Sister In Law's wedding ♥

On 29/4, I took leave because we're driving to Limbang for sister in law's wedding held at Kampung Liang Datu, Medamit Limbang.

We started our journey around 2pm. Reached Medamit around 530pm. Wait for Yoshua, our new brother in law to pick us from Pekan Medamit using 4WD.

Due to raining for the whole day, the road up to Kampung really adventures, no skill then no need go already. Reached the kampung around 730pm. Mother in law & Grandma in law were so worried about me at the other car, once get down from the car then said "are you ok?, adventures right?" Hahaha. They knew it was my first time, and i glad I didn't vomit in the end. I even prepared plastic bag for vomit hahaha.

Glad we have mattress to sleep on. Thought need to sleep on floor. The next day we woke at 7am, church ceremony started at 1030am. I was busy taking photos the whole day because my duty is photographer.

The newly weds ! Mr. & Mrs. Yoshua Lasung

After church ceremony, we went back to long house for luncheon. Weather was really hot. All of us sweating none stop. We need to change into short pants and shirt before we eat.

After the luncheon, free time. Weather too hot, and all i did was sleep. Haha. I dunno how my in law family see me, but whenever nothing to do, I sleep with the grandma in law hahahaha. Husband had beer session with his cousins and uncles so i no joined lah.

We also went to the river to bath at that evening. :) My first time also haha. Worried got crocodile.

Went back long house when the day turned dark, i bath again la. Then they prepared for dinner.
Husband helped to cook the pork

Kampung people are really friendly and they helped each other. Everyone got their own duty and they're only the villagers, not family members, yet they helped.

Our dinner

At night, we had band singing and cake cutting ceremony.

The event ended around 1030pm and I already slept at 9pm while husband continue his beer session.

Leave the kampung the next day and sister in law invited to go their home overnight at Bandar Seri Begawan. So we overnight there and have BBQ for dinner, went back to Miri on 1/5/2016.

5 Encouraging Life Verses For Marriage

Life verses are passages of scripture found in the Bible that capture our attention and feed our soul. They are so comforting, they almost seem tangible. God’s Words are powerful!

The Bible is a manual for life. It is full of hope and wisdom that we can glean from. I have experienced the power of God’s Word, how it can transform my perspectives, my character, and my heart. The Bible has changed my life for the better!

Life verses are the scriptures that are life changing. They are the ones you want to memorize because they give peace, strength and confidence. Life verses are the very Word’s of God that mean something very personal to you.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8
This is a great life verse for marriage because marriage is a union of two sinners. There will be times that you and your husband will fail each other, mess up, do something hurtful, and times that you will sin. It is important to remember God’s definition of love and how loving each other deeply can cover those sins and help you reconcile. Knowing this verse will remind you of the power of love!
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12
My husband proposed with a ring that had this life verse inscribed on the inside. This verse is incredibly meaningful to both of us. Understanding that two are better than one, but that two with God is even stronger has saved our marriage multiple times! The three cords represent a husband, a wife, and God. As the three form a close relationship with each other they cannot be quickly broken. Oh how so many marriages would benefit from clinging to this verse!
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” – Ephesians 4:2-3

This life verse is an obviously great reminder for marriage. If a husband and wife are humble, gentle, patient, and selfless, eager to keep the peace in their relationship, there would be a lot less fighting in the world. This verse reminds us to remain calm and do as Jesus would do. Please let these words sink deep into your heart and live it out in your marriage.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
I have seen this life verse written out on journals, home decor and more. It is highlighted because it reveals the heart of God towards humanity. These words fill our hearts will hope and faithfulness. Sometimes we want to know all the plans God has for us, but I don’t think we would be able to handle knowing all that He has for us in the future. He is strengthening us each day. This verse helps me to trust in God and trust in His timing and His plans for my future.
“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” – Mark 10:9
When I married my best friend, we entered into marriage believing divorce would never be an option. Years later came hardships and trials that threatened our relationship and wore us down to the point of pondering divorce. If it wasn’t for verses such as this, who knows where we would be today. God’s Word saved our marriage and it can save yours too! You and your husband have been joined together. Don’t let anyone or anything separate your love for each other.

Write these verses on your heart! Memorize and meditate on them daily! In your marriage relationship, talk to each other about these verses often, and encourage each other to trust in these words, while living them out!

When Thyroid Patients Need More Sleep

Are you feeling sleepy? According a National Sleep Foundation poll:

36 percent of American drive drowsy or fall asleep while driving
29 percent of Americans fall asleep or become very sleepy at work
20 percent have lost interest in sex because they are too sleepy
14 percent report having to miss family events, work functions, and leisure activities in the past month due to sleepiness
Feeling fatigued, or having what’s known as “unrefreshing sleep” — where you wake up but don’t feel rested — is a common complaint of people with hypothyroidism.
But even after you’re being properly treated for your thyroid condition, you may still feel sleepy. You might think the answer is that you need to increase your dose of thyroid medication? Take supplements for energy? Change your diet?
Surprisingly, the most effective recommendation may also seem the most obvious — get more sleep!!!
According to the National Sleep Foundation, various medical studies have shown that most of us need seven to eight hours of sleep per night, and the majority of people are not getting enough sleep.
If you don’t get enough sleep consistently, in addition to feeling chronically tired, you can also be contributing to a number of negative health effects:
  • Hunger and appetite go up, which can promote obesity and make it harder to lose weight
  • Heart rate and blood pressure goes up, which increases your cardiac risk
  • Inflammation increases, which increases the overall risk of disease, and worsening of autoimmune symptoms
  • Glucose tolerance is impaired — which can contribute to risk of diabetes
  • The immune system becomes less effective, which makes you more likely to get sick from viruses and bacterial infections
Finding it hard to get in your ZZZs? The National Sleep Foundation has the following advice for getting a better night’s sleep:
  • * Treat your bedroom as your sanctuary from the stresses of the day. Create a comfortable sleeping environment with a quality mattress and pillows that is free of distractions.
  • Be sure your bedroom is dark when you go to bed and will stay dark until you get the sleep you need. Use light blocking curtains or shades to be sure your room stays dark.
  • Establish a relaxing bedtime routine. Allow enough time to wind down and relax before going to bed.
  • If you find yourself still lying awake after 20 minutes, get out of bed. Get up and do something relaxing in dim light until you are sleepy.
  • Avoid exposure to bright light late at night. Dim your lights when it’s close to bedtime, and use night lights for nighttime awakenings.
  • Exercise regularly. Exercise in the morning can help you get the light exposure you need to set your biological clock. Avoid vigorous exercise close to bedtime, if you are having problems sleeping.
  • Use a sound conditioner or ear plugs to block unwanted sounds.
  • Avoid caffeinated beverages, large meals and alcohol right before bedtime.
  • No late-afternoon or evening naps, unless you work nights. If you must nap, keep it under 45 minutes and before 3:00 pm.
Some thyroid patients have also found that adding a magnesium supplement at bedtime can help improve sleep.
If you are still struggling with feeling tired and are getting enough sleep, a good source of more information is Jacob Teitelbaum, MD’s book, From Fatigued to Fantastic. Dr. Teitelbaum has recommendations regarding supplements, dietary changes and medications that can help with energy and improved sleep.

Maxis Kongsi Home Project

While Malaysia is gearing towards the direction of a developed country, unfortunately, many Malaysians are still living in houses that are so decrepit, they can be of danger to their occupants. Aware of this humbling reality,Maxis and Epic Home initiated a special project with five of the giants of Malaysia’s online retailers and shopping sites to provide a donation of materials and workforce in helping those who are in need.

In a collaboration with four other online retailers (Gemfive, HappyFresh, Rakuten, and Zalora), Lazada Malaysia is proud to be one of the main platforms for the public to chip in their donations in building the homes for many unfortunate families comes this Chinese New Year. In a project that is known as “Maxis Kongsi Home”, this is one of the many efforts by Lazada’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (Lazada CSR) project in giving back to the people.

Lazada & Maxis – Collaborating Together towards the Common Goal

For many Malaysians, home is where the heart is. This rings true especially during the festive season where nothing is more important than spending your time with your loved ones. But what if you don’t even have a proper home to begin with? This is where “Maxis Kongsi Home” project comes into the picture. In the contemporary age where almost everything is accessible via the internet, it has become so much easier for many Malaysian philanthropists to help others who are less fortunate.

At Lazada Malaysia, we have made the process to be simple and convenient. Simply place one of the five available materials that you wish to donate into your online shopping cart. Then, once everything is confirmed, materials that were purchased will be given to Epic Home for their volunteers to build the houses from. With the available materials and parts priced at the fixed price of RM 8, helping others to have a roof over their heads has never been this easy.

Help the Less Fortunate Today – While You Are Online Shopping

Sometimes the littlest amount of effort, when it is done collectively, it could make a huge change. While RM 8 seems not much to begin with, but if every 1 in 20 of those who are online shopping participates in this project, 50 families would have a house that they can call their own by the end of this project.

Come and join our effort today. With few simple steps, we can make a change.

So I decided to join this very meaningful program by buying these two products.

Shop at these online stores:

All proceeds will go to building a home for the needy, so let’s work together to build hope one home at a time.

CNY 2016

CNY came really fast and ended really fast too. Today back to reality, start working again after 9 days of holiday.

This is my first CNY as Mrs. Kho, without my family, reunion dinner without my family, need to prepare f & b by our own, need to decorate our own home, need to give away angpows, no angpow can collect etc.

My Family, with 2 new members :)
After married, of course my reunion dinner will be with the husband's family. Our reunion dinner is charcoal steamboat. Husband said charcoal steamboat is a must since their grandparent's time. Too bad both their grandparent are not here anymore. Red eggs because it's also my bro in law's birthday. :D
Reunion dinner by parent in law
After dinner, we went home to wait for 12am, to play fire crackers ! Our first time also.

We woke up at 8am to prepare foods for open house. It's my first experience with open house. I had never have open house at my parent's home before.I only fried chicken wings, husband prepared fried mee and stir fried chicken with black pepper sauce. Mum in law prepared kacangma and mixed vegetables.

Husband looking good while waiting for our guests to come hehehe.
Thanks Jess and Nur for coming
In the morning, there were less people coming, more to my friends. Afternoon onwards, husband's relatives started coming in. And my house was full of people, some even need to stand.
The crowd at my home.
Thanks Noob for coming
Thanks Ah Yen, Wen Jun, Chloe and Lian for coming too !
2nd day joined husband and family visit to their relative's home. Bro came early morning to our home too.

3rd day i flew to KK to join my family as husband already started working. So he asked me to join my family instead of staying home alone. He don't let me stay alone at home one. Woke up at 4am and he sent me to airport at 430am. Poor husband.

Reached KK on time, thanks God the flight was so smooth. Parent picked me from airport and back to hotel to have breakfast. As it's Ash Wednesday, so no meat allowed. I only ate bread and eggs.

We went Suria KK almost everyday to watch lion dances, dragon performance. Their decoration was so nice.

Went also Kundasang. Praise the Lord weather was good and we can view the full mountain kinabalu.

We went Kundasang because mum wanted to buy flowers. She bought 5 pots.

Back to Miri by car, reached Miri around 3pm.

Wishing you all a prosperity new year. Gong Xi Fa Cai

Happy 4th Monthsary; Preparation for CNY

We had been married for 4 months!

We had just collected our wedding full video from the videographer and paid the balance sum. Memories all came out again when watching the video. ♥ Preparation took a year and wedding day for a day.

Since I had my own kitchen, my favourite department is household ! Haha. My recent purchase was this:

Swivel Sweeper !
My home is really dusty as we do not have air cond at the living room, most of the time we didn't close our main door only grill. Our home is very windy. So dust will come in even we just done vacuum or mopping. Bought this sweeper to sweep away all the dust and hairs on floor, instead of dragging the vacuum out.

I bought this from Lazada, one of my favorite online shopping website. I also bought an Halogen Oven from Lazada earlier.

I also bought a juicer, a toaster, an egg cooker for my kitchen, so the kitchen is almost full already.

5 more days and CNY is here ! My very first CNY without my own family, no reunion dinner with family. Sigh. Nevermind lah, i still have family in laws. And we need to decorate our own home. Buying lanterns, decorations, angpows, buying cny cookiers, soft drinks etc. Mum was so kind to make cakes for me.

Busy with our home now, preparing this and that because we're having open house on the 1st day of CNY.

some decoration @ our home
Bake this with mum
Lanterns are up
Grass cutting @ the backyard

Happiness is not having what you like. Happiness is liking what you have and being content...

You were born in a first class hospital, I was delivered at home, we both survived.
You went to a private primary school and I went to a public school, we both ended in the same high school.
You woke up from the bed and I woke from the floor, we both had a peaceful night rest.
Your outfits are all expensive, mine are all simple and cheap, we both still cover our nakedness.
You ate fried rice and roasted chicken, I ate local made food but we both still ate to our satisfaction.
You ride on Lexus jeep, Range Rover, G Wagon, Hummer Jeep and I use public transport but we still got to our various destination.
You may be reading this post from your Sony xperia, BB Z10, Q10, Samsung Galaxy 6edge, IPhone6+ and I typed it with my Touch one broken screen, we still see the message.
Lifestyle is not a competition and there are different ways to get a lot of things done, different lanes all leading to the same destination. Just because your neighbour is doing things faster does not mean you are failing.
Happiness doesn't come from having everything, but making the best out of what you have, it's all about how you see yourself.
Happiness is not having what you like. Happiness is liking what you have and being content...

You must never ask a woman her age and a man his salary..
Do you know why, Have you ever thought about it..
Well here is a beautiful insight...
It is wrong to ask a woman her age because she hardly ever lives for herself!
And it is wrong to ask a man his salary because he hardly ever spends on himself!.
